Editorial Policy

Transparency is important to us. This page explains how we create, review, and maintain the content on Illness Researcher.

How Content Is Created

Our content is generated through a multi-step process:

  1. Article Collection: We gather peer-reviewed medical research articles from academic databases.
  2. AI Processing: Large language models (AI) analyze the articles and extract key findings, recommendations, and evidence.
  3. Manual Review: We periodically review AI-generated summaries to check for accuracy and clarity.
  4. User Feedback: Readers can report errors or concerns, which we investigate and address.

Handling Errors and Corrections

We take accuracy seriously. If you find an error:

  • Use the feedback button or email us at support@techhkg.com
  • Include details about what seems incorrect and, if possible, a link to the relevant source
  • We will review the issue and make corrections as needed

When we correct significant errors, we update the content directly. Our goal is to provide accurate information, not to hide mistakes.

Update Frequency

This is a personal project maintained in spare time. Content updates happen:

  • Periodically - When new research articles are processed and added to our database
  • As resources allow - Updates depend on available time and computational resources for AI processing
  • In response to feedback - Corrections are prioritized when users report issues

We do not guarantee real-time updates or coverage of the latest research. Always check publication dates on source articles and consult current medical guidelines.

Handling Conflicting Research

Medical research often produces conflicting results. Different studies may reach different conclusions due to variations in study design, population, or methodology. Here's how we handle this:

  • We show multiple perspectives: When evidence conflicts, we try to present findings from different studies rather than picking a single "winner."
  • We prioritize higher-quality evidence: Systematic reviews and meta-analyses carry more weight than individual studies. Randomized controlled trials are weighted more heavily than observational studies.
  • We note uncertainty: If evidence is mixed or limited, summaries should reflect that uncertainty.
  • Newer evidence may override older findings: When more recent, well-designed studies contradict older research, we update our summaries accordingly.

Limitations

Please be aware of these limitations:

  • AI-generated summaries may contain errors or miss important nuances from the original research
  • We cannot guarantee comprehensive coverage of all relevant research for any condition
  • Medical knowledge evolves; information may become outdated
  • This tool supplements but does not replace professional medical advice

We encourage you to verify important information with the original sources and discuss any health decisions with qualified healthcare providers.
